Katy had watched a lot of dog videos before about dogs who didn’t know how to be a dog but Nala was the first one of the like that she had ever met. When she and her husband Collin first met her, she wasn’t in the best condition. Only half of her body was covered in fur and she was also constantly itching. And it seemed like she had not been outside much since her paws were as smooth as a puppy’s.

The couple had been fostering for a while at that time and Nala was surrendered by her family who was going through eviction and a divorce. So, it must have been very rough on her and she probably didn’t get the attention, love, and care that she needed.

Right at the start when she came home with Katy and Collin, she loved to get right up to them and then give them hugs and kisses. And she definitely loved all of the attention and affection that she got. And soon enough, her fur started to grow again and she became more comfortable and even playful. Katy even remembered that one time she picked up her first toy and that was the time she knew she would be okay.

But as a rule, the couple always waited a few days to introduce any of their fosters to their own dogs. But Nala clearly became the exception to this rule. She was just so sweet and she naturally fit in right into their family. Interestingly, she also developed a bond with their cat named Robert.

A few months passed by, Nala eventually recovered. Her fur and her skin were healed and she gained around 10-15 pounds. And at the time, they were already considering whether they would keep her or get her adopted. Katy cried so much thinking about it but in the end, she and Collin decided that it was best for her to have her own family.

Soon enough they met Aidan who was just the perfect match for Nala. During the meet and greet, they instantly hit it off and Aidan also found Nala even cuter in person. While it was hard for them to let go of her, seeing someone dote on her and just willingly give her so much love made it so much easier.

Now Nala lives a happy life as a velcro dog who is always up for some cuddles, hugs, and kisses from her new fur mom. And she’s just filled with so much joy that even a simple smile gets her tail just wagging. Nala has definitely come so far and she deserved every bit of love she’s getting.
