Mindi picked up an old Yorkshire Terrier from an animal shelter and named him Sonic. The Precious Pals Pet Rescue worker shared that she could tell that Sonic knew she was there to take care of him because he instantly relaxed in her arms as soon as they got in the car together.
Mindi took Sonic to the groomer the following morning since his fur was extremely matted. It was evident that Sonic suffered from pure neglect, but she promised him that he would be well-taken cared of and will now know nothing but love.
Mindi observed Sonic’s behavior when they got home from the groomer, and Sonic looked uncomfortable inside the house. She realized that Sonic must have never lived inside a home because he did not want to lay down on the blanket or beds that she had set up.
Mindi said that it was heartbreaking to see Sonic not having any idea what a bed was. He did not want to lay on any of the three beds that she had set up, but tiredness eventually won him over, and he dozed off on the blanket.
Mindi recalled that Sonic was quiet as a mouse during his first week. However, he started barking on his sixth day, and Mindi said that it was a bark that she never expected to come from a tiny pup like him.
Mindi said that Sonic’s confidence eventually grew after a few weeks, and it became more evident when she introduced him to her other foster dog, Jazzie. It became clear that Sonic was ready to be adopted after seeing how much he has blossomed into a confident dog.
Sonic and Jazzie were eventually adopted together by a woman who had recently lost her dog. Mindi shared that witnessing dogs like Sonic find his fur-ever home is where she gets joy, and she is happy that she is there to pass them on into their next life where they are now loved and wanted.
