Roo is a special labrador mix breed puppy with dark eyes, shiny coat, and two extra legs.  Born in Essex, England, the six legged puppy was energetic, cheerful, and attractive. The breeder posted pictures of the unusual pup on the internet.

Lauren Salmon, a compassionate animal lover, already had a Jack Russell, two cats and two French Lop rabbits when she adopted the special puppy.  When her son Luke saw Roo’s cute photos on the internet, she didn’t hesitate to buy her immediately.  The special pup adjusted well in their home; in fact, Luke and Roo became instant best of friends.

Luke suffers from a skin disease called Psoriasis which makes his skin red and flaky.  In fact, he was sometimes bullied at school because of his skin’s appearance. Lauren believed that he was attracted to Roo because they were both special; therefore, they quickly bonded.

Luke is like a protective father to Roo, according to his mother. In fact, they are usually together even at night.  Roo got her name because she reminded the family of a kangaroo the way she hopped on her rear legs. Her four front legs do not allow her to walk normally.  She does more of an army crawl on her elbows

Lauren decided to consult a specialist to help the special pup improve her mobility. She consulted Dr. Noel Fitzpatrick, known as the Supervet on English TV, for the best options.  He said that Roo was not a candidate for surgery at this time and suggested custom-made doggy wheels for her front.

While the extra legs do not cause Roo any pain, the custom wheels will allow her to get around easier.  She is as full of energy and curiosity as any puppy despite her physical difference.  To Lauren and Luke, Roo is a normal dog with just a few extra parts.
