When an injured pup found himself stranded on an interstate with speeding cars, he cowered in fear and pleaded for help. The poor pup was placed in a horrifying situation after wandering around and getting hit by one of the cars. Luckily, his hero was right around the corner when the pup was injured.

Enter officer Joseph Puglia, a brave cop who risked his life by going onto the interstate to rescue the pup. Joseph saw how the pup got hit and knew he had to act immediately. Any second later and the pup could get hit by another car, so he stepped right to it and snatched the pup away from danger.

Initially, Joseph thought the pup didn’t survive the impact because it wasn’t moving. Thankfully, the dog was still breathing, and that eased the heart of our hero. The officer put the injured pup in a blanket to let him know he was there for him while he carried him back to the car.

Joseph took the pup to Pinellas Animal Hospital, where he received medical assistance. Luckily, the dog didn’t sustain serious injuries but did have a few minor cuts. The pup is expected to have a speedy and full recovery.

After receiving the treatment the pup needed, it was time to find his family. He was brought to an animal shelter so his family could find him easily. Unfortunately, no one seemed to be looking for the pup so he had to stay a little longer. However, this pup’s stay at the shelter looked like it would be cut short because Joseph’s relatives heard about his backstory and decided to adopt him if no one claimed him.

Now, people at the shelter call the pup Lucky because the name fits him perfectly. He was lucky enough to survive what he’s gone through and even managed to find a possible forever family from the ordeal he faced.
