At Perlei Salon, a French/Italian glamour-style shop in New Jersey, one of their highlights why customers keep coming back is a glamorous Standard Poodle named Daphne. Daphne fits her glam role at her mommy’s salon with her model-like long neck and perfectly groomed pom-poms.
Daphne works as the salon’s mascot. She welcomes guests and gives them love and cuddles. Her workmates are also happy to have her because of her contagious energy and charisma. In fact, according to Allysa Carrara, a senior stylist at the shop, the pup is one of the best parts of her workdays.
Most of the customers also adore Daphne. Miranda Geller, one of their customers, actually became a client of Perlei Salon because of her. Miranda saw Daphne on an Instagram post, which made her visit the salon. She now frequents the salon, together with her 6-year old daughter, who fondly calls the place the “Poodle Salon.”
Linsey Barbuto-Nuñez and her husband, Daphne’s parents, initially considered getting a German Shepherd for a dog. Both of them adore this breed, but Linsey hesitated because she did not want a shedding breed. They already have two cats who take care of spreading fur everywhere in the house, and they decided getting another one is not a good idea.
So, they decided to get a Standard Poodle instead. Another quality that the couple wanted in a dog was intelligence, and Daphne perfectly fits the role. She is a fast learner, and they trained her to socialize. She loves being with people and is always happy while doing her work.
At home, Daphne is still the diva dog that she is. She sleeps in between her parents, who both adore her so much. Her daddy also takes her out for walks, while her mommy refers to her as her best friend.
